Does anyone have the sound of a new electronic American crossing bell?

A number of my locomotives have crossing bell sounds and i can trip them off approaching a crosing but alas i do not have a crossing!

Is it the Coriolis affect that you get where the sound a bell makes is different approaching it as opposed to departing from it?

Are you talking about Dopplar shift?  The sound as it gets closer gets slightly higher pitched until the source of the sound passes and suddenly drops in pitch?

I've always wanted to see in person those realroad units in action and how well they hold up outdoors..first.

Is it REAL? or Just 1:29 scale?

Marty , i've had mine outside for over a year now and it still is going strong . Been buried under snow and ice and baked in the hot sun too . I keep the electronics in a small grade crossing shack next to the road . Mine dont have the moving gates they just blink with sound . If you look closely you'll see the speaker in the shanty window .

FYI, they are referring to the grade crossing ones, not on the engines.  The newer grade crossing bells are electronic, instead of a real bell.

Mike
thanks, I may look into the basic crossing bucks and sound. I have two places were I'd really like to see the action.
