^ A curious reaction. I'd imagine if you were among the persons I've represented who had personal information sold to third parties, who then sold it to someone else, with terrible consquences, you'd sing a different tune.

Since it is train related I don't have a problem with it... now if I could get Scenic Express to mail me a free catalog, that would be cool!

Now if CTT had sold my info to say a non-train related manufacturer then I would be a bit miffed.

Got my catalog yesterday. I will probally order an NW2 and an extra motor set for my F7 Santa set, the transformer needs to be near half power or better to get the locomotive moving as it only has one motorized unit out of three F7 diesels and six passenger cars.  Maybe a couple of sound units for a diesel a have.

Like Bob K. mentioned I hope that I don't get another catalog being a TCA member.

Finally got mine. Pretty much a rehash of last year's catalog. A few new things, but not many. I think a GG1 is going to be our next Williams purchase.

I was plesently surprised to recive a catalog also. A lot of it is still out of my price range, but they are still a lot more reasonable than other companies. I will probly join the platnum club just to get a freight car. My girls love the girls set too.

Yes, I received on in the mail a few days ago.  There's some nice stuff in it.  I'm not sure what I will order from it yet.

Received my Williams catalog today. Very nice, and a marked improvement over the gigantic fold-out mailers of the past that were so hard to view easily.

The back cover of my catalog was pretty well beaten up by the USPS, but that's pretty much the norm, so I'm not overly bothered.  Nice to see such a big catalog coming from the folks at Williams.

Yes, their direct order prices are higher than those offered by Ma & Pa, JusTrains, and some other retailers, but that's to be expected and it certainly doesn't bother me in the least.  They are protecting their dealers while still offering the option of ordering direct (which I have done once or twice in the past).  Frankly, I would like to see other manufacturers offer a similar option, and my guess is theat we'll see that at some point in the future as the hobby continues to "consolidate."

In any event, I'll spend some time this evening going through the catalog, and I am grateful for Williams having sent it.

Got mine today - my daughter was thrilled by those big 2 page pics of the girls train reproduction!  Thanks Williams and anyone else involved in getting me this great catalog.  I noticed it was a $5 value for FREE, too!  Can't beat free.  Chuck, those silvery cars sure are sharp.  I think you have their GG1 with some Madison cars?  How is it holding up?

Jim....Williams GG1 and Madison cars are doing fine. They run great. And they go thru 0-31 tubular track and switches without a problem. GG-1 has a lot of pulling power and is heavy.

As an aside, while in this case I have enjoyed the catalogue, I am vexed that my name and address information as a subscriber were apparently circulated or sold for marketing purposes without my consent. I am huge fan of CTT and this forum, that remains the case.

Williams doesn't want to compete directly with their own dealers, so the prices are considerably higher if you order direct from them.

Maybe Williams will send me a catalog soon as I do some online shopping at the Williams website.  I like the Williams quality and the fact that you don't have to pay for extra features that will most likely go unused.

Does Williams list train sets with track and transformer? That would help sell trains for those who are new to the hobby.

Not yet but believe there looking into it. I bought the tidewater express set from it about 4 months ago and I've never heard an engine so quiet as it is may add comand control to this one also

I got my big Williams catalog, the other day. Also, a flyer with 20% off of the Sale prices to Platinum Club members. Which I am a long standing member. I like the Luxury Lines aluminum passenger cars. Silver Range, Sliver Cloud..etc. Just like ones from the 50's.

The Budd Cars are really inexpensive. I have a set and they are great.
