Photos from Roger’s Corners, Ohio
Elevation 936 Feet

The Baltimore, Ohio and Wabash Railroad Photo Album

This last week with a deep breath and sweat rolling off my forehead, I installed the cruise control in my K-Line Mikado. Here are some photos I took of the insides of the engine before the installation.

The following photo shows the Mikado being tested after the cruise has been installed. Much to my relief it worked and still does work today after several hours of running.

Some very good photography going on here !

John, with your new camera you might want to check out this website.

http://www.47stphoto.com/item_child.asp?c=9233818&p=41613&catky=8237725&subcatky1=&subcatky2=&subcatky3=

It is for a slide duplicator, it runs $69 + $7 for an adaptor ring. I purchased on of these for my digital last year. Since then I have digitized over 4,000 slides that are just sitting in boxes. I have been able to sort them and put them on DVD's and given them to various family members. The duplicator works really well. Can take those old slides, crop and zoom the image and endless capabilities evolve.

Scott - great pictures of the Acela
Tom - Is that your layout? Would be interesting to see a birds eye view!
Buckeye - Tremendous close ups!
Walt - Nice layout

I am going to try latter today to see if I can post a couple of pictures.

Howdy. A couple of shots of the State of the Table including a Marx 333. I wish I could say it smokes like a bandit but it doesn't! I might try some megasmoke. I can see several years of fun ahead in getting things up and going. I'm just messing around with non-derailing turnouts for the first time. Pretty nifty.

Dwayne--

That BB1 is a fantastic addition to my pike and it is one of my favorites. It runs silky smooth, the detailing is just fantastic and it will run on O31. I think it's a great value considering it's a Premier.

Jon

PS--if you want, I could take more pics and send them on to you via email--I would love to use my new Nikon D70s for such a worthwhile project!

Tom,laz,John, and others great pictures as always;I always look forward to seeing Sunday-Photo-Fun.

laz, really liked the "Strip Mine";I'm currently looking to build a "tipple" type mine
for a section of my layout. Having a bit of trouble finding plans for what I need/want.

John (csxt30) if I run across one of those original "Batmobiles",I'll remember to
keep you in mind.

Being Crazy, keeps you from going "INSANE" !! "The light at the end of the tunnel, has been turned off due to budget cuts" NOT AFRAID A Vet., and PROUD OF IT!!

Don : thanks for the tip on that slide picture taker ! I think that's what it is. I clicked on that site & it isn't available now, though.

Everyone sure has some great photos of their layouts, & is very inspiring !!
Thanks, John

These pictures are not even in the same category as the others. But what the heck.......

We are going to be building a room for trains over our garage, (meet with the contractor tomorrow for final review of plans), so in the interium we are on the floor, and doing maintenance on all our stock, and planning. Still lots of fun!

Christmas tree gone, but trains stayed.

The newest horse in our stable, and boy is it strong!

Circuit Breaker box for the ZW we built, (building was 1/2 the fun)

Completed and installed. (It works too! Already shorted one circuit and it popped, derailment)

Our team (less one)

Thanks for the opportunity to share.

FEC,
It's a Railking Commodore Vanderbilt PS1 from late "90's.

Don - I have always dreamed of putting a room over my garage, even had a set of plans but not the money to do it. Good luck with yours. Looks like you'll be able to fill it up pretty quick.

Your layout pics are beautiful. Keep 'em coming. They're inspiring me to constantly improve mine. I can't wait til it's far enough along to post my own pics.

Nice pix all!

db; thanks for info on slide dup; I may need to get one but a bit pricey.

paul, again, great night innovation; I'd suggested the idea a few years ago but yours if the first. You could add a black light and paint stars and moon with heavy duty detergent that is invisible until the black light goes on. I've done that before, even mapping the constellations on the ceiling and applying flourescent paints to car taillights, headlights etc; you can go crazy with that and have fun

roger, nice cruise conversion

scott, cute babe in acela

laz, that's the pitts!

by next sunday's foto fun hope to have some shots of a new supersized industry i worked on over the weekend that weighs about 50 pounds. it is a machine & tool company industry that doubles as a beagle step thru the window. i'm corrugating the sides all this week with saved pop cans

don't have any shots of my layout this week but recently visited an outdoor layout so here are some scenery shots; also, still running pix of my trip to zurich last month and will have more in the future that will include trolley buses

Here are some unpublished photos of Jim Strong’s layout up in Maryland, depicting his effective usage of rocks to give a prototypical appearance.

Notice the placement and angle of the rocks, the strata, and the weathered look with greenish mosses looking like the rocks were there from the dawn of time…

and Zurich...

Laz,

I recall seeing the purgatory fires blazing nightly in the coal heaps. Don't know if they ever put those out.

Now, you could rig up some red LEDs and a smoke unit and...

DAVID,
Up in Cetralia, Pa there is still a culm bank and mine fire still burning for 20+ years. They relocated the people but still some are holding on to there property. Town looks like a ghost town. I agree would look good with some red LEDs. and smoke.
