we can run our Railking 4-6-6-4 Challenger or Lionel A-A /A-B F-3's on ours, no problem.

I would recommend that you save your money and wait until you can get a better turntable.

The Atlas TT is 24". As long as the wheelbase is less than that, the engine will fit. I don't believe that anything bigger than a Railking 4-8-4 would fit-- I know that mine will(wheelbase is 23"+). The TT is meant for mounting on a tabletop, and must be absolutly flat across the 25+ in.

Anyone happen to know whats the largest steam loco you can fit on the Atlas turntable?

You should have no problems using the Atlas turntable with tubular track. Just make sure the insides of the rails align. I think the turntable is only designed for table top mounting.

i'm planing on using lionel o guage tube track, due to price mainly.
Is the Atlas turntable compatible with the tube stuff?
How dosse it look table top mounted, or is better to cut a hole and sink it in?
