Sunny, sunny and hot - did not hit 100 yesterday which suits me. Upper 90's today.
Got the passenger door panels off without destroying anything. Found the reason the electric door lock motors were not working correctly - the rubber weather boot crystallized and turned back into carbon/coal (ahhh - 1980's plastics) - so removed the lock motor (a feat in itself - good to have small arms/hands!) and broke the old boot off. Lubed it all up and now it works great. Ordered a boot for a outboard motor control cable that might fit. My buddy George suggested using the finger off a cheap rubber glove - brilliant!. Without a boot water can run down the shaft into the lock motor/gearbox (it is not a solenoid).
The power window is another matter. Very difficult to take apart (riveted in - a 3/4" metal hole cutter required to drill through the inner panel to access the motor bolt heads) so using WD40 to try to clean and free things up (need to avoid grease that would hold dirt/grime in the tracks). Working better. I would like to take the motor off and clean/lube it - but due to the difficulty I will just wait until it is critical/needs replacing. Have the driver door to do.
The auto restoration sites and auto parts stores sell the plastic trim/panel clips for like $3 each - took a hint from a Youtuber and looked on Amazon - 50 pieces for 10 bucks, 2 day free Prime delivery. Did the same for a couple of rolls of auto high heat wire harness tape!
In the process of ordering AC parts. The low pressure hose burned through in the fire. Rockauto has some good deals and I will be replacing the hoses, accumulator, orifice, and o-rings. We think the compressor is ok as it was working when the fire occurred and the low pressure sensor would have stopped the compressor when the freon took flight.
We have decided the fire occurred when the check valve for the air injection on the drivers side failed, blowing hot exhaust into the AIR diverter valve (plastic) which then caught on fire/melted. Our "forensic" analysis involved the psychic powers of beer!
Almost forgot - keeping in mind this vehicle has sat outdoors for nearly 25 years - there was no rust down in the inner door. Ahhh north Texess climes!
Brent - agree with Banks. I would assume on your new house all circuits are rated for 20 amps (but could be 15?). Use all LED lights which typ pull around 1/5th the current of incandescents (i.e. a 60 W incandescent is typ replaced by a 13 w LED or CFL). So you can load up a lghting circuit which is still designed for incandescents with nearly 5x/6x with LEDs. Just keep adding lights until the breaker trips and then remove the last two fixtures installed.

A struggle to log in. Couldn't do it with tablet or phone.
Been an interesting week. Went for lung CT monday morningnonly to be told they hadn't recieved the authorization from insurance so no go. Said they should have it later the same day, they'd call me. No call so today I called them. The request had been denied, they could ask for a review after they recieve the offical denial letter. Thinking that could take days or weeks I called insurance co and complained. They called Doc and told them how to cut the red tape. I'll rattle Docs cage in the morning to make sure it happens. I learned a long time ago the squeaky wheel gets the grease.
Other than that needing rain and trying to keep the garden watered. We got .25" Sunday evening and .8" today.
Roy.....good luck with the ElCamino. Like Chief said I've removed AIR pumps from a few cars. The first thing that usually went bad is the small tubes in the exhaust manifold rusted off.
88......Haven't kept up with the residential codes. Are they 15 or 20 amp circuits? 15 amp circuit is good for 1400 watts continuous, 1800 watts for a 20 amp. Are the can lights LED? Probably 30 or 40 watts each, +/- 500 watt total. That leaves 2300 or 3100 watts for trains.

Afternoon/evening all. Waiting for 2 more double packs of 5000 Lumas Led 48" shop lights. 3 of them will go into the shed. Then one more in the train room. I really should have bought two more, one for each side under the train layout.

Last night was the monthly meeting of the local NRHS chapter, at Fifedom! I proposed this back in February, as the gatherings were getting a little stale. We had 8 members show, and Ms. Kelly (The Hostest with da Mostest), grilled dogs and burgers on the deck. After chow, we adjourned to the train room, and ran trains and talked for an hour. Then I introduced the guys to youtube tv, and Virtual Railfan. All-in-all, a good time. Wifey said they were all perfect gentlemen, and each complimented her on her home, and hospitallity.

Wow!!!! RT that is a great shed!!! But what the heck did you do when you wired it up??? Seems like you took down forum with the pictures. Think you might want to check your wiring before you plug it in again.
Roy, I don't envy you with installing that harness! Have you taken out the dashboard? I'm told to replace the top it has to come out.

Yep - forum was unaccessible since RT's last post a couple days ago. I tried to post after RT and when I tried to submit it gave an error code.
To hit 98 today. Only hit 98 yesterday! 79 this am so not so bad.
Work continues on the El Cam wiring harnesses. Got it all sorted out for now. Removing the remainder of the burned harness from the firewall (harness goes through firewall via a large rubber plug - not connectors - rubber has hardened) will be a challenge. Not much room to work under the AC air box.
Forum had problems. Couldn't post. Harold Miller fixed. Got email after I sent one to Keller.
Hot and humid. Watering today.

Here's my new shed. We already have installed a window unit AC. I got about 3/4 of the insulation done on the bottom 6' section, I have also got about 3/4 of the first run of foam insulation sheet ( 4' x 8' x 1/2" last picture) I also have what they call " unbranded 1/8 in x 4 ft x 8 ft Eucalyptus white hardboard".
I'm putting that between the insulation and the whiteboard, for a little more insulation and it is also mold-resistant and also bug resistant.
Hey, I'm back.......Missed all the weather , Carlisle was a great time, with great friends and great cars. 3 full days were not enough. We see our friends from the internet 2 days a year and it's not enough. Nope, we didn't win anything and that's fine. We had great food and camaraderie. The room was excellent. Yes, it was hot but more so on Sunday's drive home.I have news from Saturday, but I will reveal it maybe next Monday. It is life changing in a good way.I received my 2046 from ChooChoo while I was away, I'll probably sell the body as I just need the guts, hope to get that done this week. That will complete my train purchases for a while, I think.Yeah I had issues getting into CTT, so I left and figured maybe today. It does NOT like Chrome.
