Good evening all,

Another good day.  Foyt team did what I expected at Toronto.  Finished breaking up boxes.  Lucas staying overnight and having a good visit with him.  Should be a "normal" work week this week.  Weather going to be hot.  I hope everyone has a good day.

Keep on training,

Mike C. from Indiana

Evening All

Roy, I watched all the Nascar races this weekend, really enjoyed them.  The Busch Bros finish was phenomenal!!  Really good racing.  Yep the good guy won!  The other two races were at Ky also, was more incidents, but good racing as well.  I get frustrated with all the commercials though.

We went to the Movies last night, saw the movie Yesterday, was very interesting and thought provoking.  Essentially it was what it would be like if the Beatles never existed.   Doubt that it will win many awards, but enjoyed it very much.  Hope it does well at the box office.

Continued my dresser refinishing, No. 1 came out pretty good, was pleased with it, no doing #2, the last one.

Take care all and be Safe!

The last movie I went to see was "Godzilla, King Of The Monsters!"

Hey, if you're a Godzilla fan like Lady Firestorm and myself you'll love it, if not, don't bother.  At least it's a pear-shaped butt-draggin' Godzilla like it's supposed to be, not that "whatever it was" in the one with Matthew Broderick.

The sound volume in the theater was WAY TOO LOUD though!  My ears were ringing by the time the flick ended!

Last movie I saw with Lady F prior to "Big G" was "The Favourite," a period drama set in England during the reign of Queen Anne.  We were both looking forward to it as we love historic pieces.

It was a waste of time.  Downright weird.  If you haven't seen it don't bother.

Morning all!

Barry effects keeping the temps in the 80's, high thin clouds.

Low key day yesterday. Cleaned up the woodworking area from the window and shutters projects the last couple of weeks. Ms and I did a waverunner run on the river in the afternoon. Joined 4 friends/neighbors for Mexican food and then we all went to another neighbors house for fire pit and cold brews.

Mornin' boys.  Spent the weekend back in Baltimore, visiting with Fifepup and his girlfriend.  I like her; very mature for her age, plus she wants to make a Christmas layout!  We spent all day Saturday together, barhopping at our favorite waterfront spots.  We even got down to the yatchett, and he did a visual inspection on the motor for me.  Dropped the price down as well.  Sunday, they joined me for coffee at the DD (something we don't have west of Hagerstown).  Then I kissed and hugged them goodbye.  They headed to the O's game (and nearly saw a perfect game).  They are now headed down 95, back to Orlando.

Morning.  Nothing changed as hot, humid and dry.  Watered some late yesterday.  Will do more late today.

Fifey, good visit with Fife Pup and GF report.

Off to get new vehicle.  Now to sell 4 Runner.  Wifey concerned I am stepping down to CRV.  Fine with me.  Better gas mileage.  4 Runner has been checked over and over.  All OK but get about same gas mileage as my pickup with old big 350 V-8.  Drive pickup for most farm, hunting and errand trips.

Enjoy the day.

Hello there,

Fife....thought about you and the yachet while crossing the bay bridge Saturday

about halfway through the 4 to 5 hour gastric emptying test.

Spent yesterday napping, visiting mom, mowing hay and visiting with a cousin from New Mexico I rarely see. Been about 12 years.

While mowing hay, in a neighbors field that my uncle used to rent, I thought if you would have told me as a teenager that I'd be making hay in the same field 50 years later I'd have said you're full of sh!t.

Back to my book.

Prayers for those in need

Afternoon Fellas

Long time no post. Sad Had log in issues for past two weeks. Sad This software is such a joy.

If you are on FB you know TheQ and I sold the house in Pittsburgh (closed on May 1)... we also sold our house in Mt Airy and close this coming Friday. For me it has been a time of happiness (building new house), frustration (buyers and their demands), exhaustion (moving from 4br house to 2br apartment), and yes sadness. We moved into the house on June 16, 2007... one day before our 1 year aniversary... it is the longest I have ever lived in a house and we have so many memories there. I am looking forward to the new adventures, but a part of me will miss this house.

We should find out this coming week when the new house will be done. Then we get to do the whole moving thing again. LOL

Fife - sounds like a great time! Glad things are going well for FifePup. Not looking good for a trip to Fifedom till 2020 now. Sad

Chief - down sizing is good... I keep trying to convince my parents of this fact... although I do appreciate their perspective since they have lived in their house for nearly half their lives. But they did downsize from a Caravan to a mid-size Buick SUV! LOL

Good evening all,

Brent good to hear the news and that things are progressing well.  Long day at work.  Not overly busy, just long.  Took a nap before and after soccer practice which had a cool breeze due to rain in the vicinity but not at practice.  Got to see the Honda train roll into town afterward.  Viewed the Lionel catalog today.  Some interesting items, but no must haves.  I hope everyone has a good day.

Keep on training,

Mornin' boys.  Got an interested buyer for the yatchett yesterday.  Looks like I'll be traveling back to B'more soon.  Fifepup & Pupfriend arrived safely back in FLA.  FifeyWifey wants to head to Deep Creek.  FifeMax got a bath.

Morning all.

Chief the Cadillac SRX we had I didn't like as it was so low to the ground, I later found out it was built on a corvette frame, and that was the reason.

Well yesterday, My friend and I finished the walls in the garage. It is completely closed off and the walls are done. Next step is to cut into the wall ( where a window was ) and make a door to the house, so I don't have to go outside to get to the new trainroom ex garage. I some how got my measurements off as the county has the withe of the garage at 25' I come up with 22' on the inside from wall to wall, so I know there isn't no 3' of walls. Maybe 1' . any way the inside is actually 16' x 22' still plenty of room to build a layout and for the time being have a small work shop. I'm going to start with 16' x 8' and then see from there. I plan to at least go to 16' x 12' maybe 14'

Holy jeez, HOT, HOT, HOT again!  High 90's!

Still, there were things to be done around the house.  Washed the exterior with a product called "Mold Armor."  Great stuff!  Followed the directions and the mold on the vinyl siding was history!  Looks great now!  If you've got a mold or algae problem on your house try it, Lowes sells it.  Works an all sidings and brick as well.

Cut the grass and whacked the weeds, literally drank a half-gallon of water to stay hydrated, wore a white t-shirt and hat and got it done.

'Collector, that brick looks great!  That's a gutsy decor for a train room, kind of like a steam backshop in the olden time.

Dribble dribble, drip drip all day here. Storm Did not amount to much but a huge humidity driver. Temps will go out of site over the next few days with a predicted 99 on Friday. SS payday tomorrow so got to get supplies before the massive heat wave. Got to make a game plan to repair the bad wood on the chimney siding so I can get what I need to get it done before winter.
Banks, How did the clean out go? I got to get both ends looked into next Monday. Surprise

Yes cell is same number... home phone number has changed which is nice as no robo calls.

I'm in Urbana for now... in a couple months, when the new house is done, we'll be in Ijamsville at 355/75. Will have lots of space for visitors!

I got my October York flyer in the mail... it is a no-go again. Sad Maybe April?

TheQ has already started a Honey-Do-List for the new house... ugh. Told her I would be happy 'retiring' and being a house-husband... maybe do some side work here and there... believe it or not she didn't say 'No'.

Headed back to the old house tonight hoping between tonight and tomorrow night we can finish cleaning. I know I have a load of stuff to take to FiL's tonight though.

Good evening all,

An excellent idea I had been lobbying for with the soccer schedule might have been materializing but the same old "head in the sand" philosophy espoused by the school system is threatening to send it crashing to the ground again.  Sometimes I really wonder why I bother anymore.  Roger Ward's saying about "It isn't fun anymore" is rolling around in my head.  Work was busy again.  Tomorrow should be quiet, I hope.  Weather either hot or rainy or both.  I hope everyone has a good day.

Hello there,

HOT is the word of the day.

Monday was shot at the hospital. They fed me scrambled eggs loaded with???? So they could see how long it took to clear my stomach.

Gastro doc suspects slow movement may be causing some of my issues. Follow up appointment next week .

After that I made my 1st use of the round baler as son had to work. Let's say there was a learning curve, plus I  had to shuttle the bales to a place they won't roll away. Got stopped by dew.

Another appointment Tuesday, then I  caught bales with skid loader while son baled. Got done just in time for him to go to work. This morning started to rake in preparing  to plant grass. Followed by a lunch date and another appointment before the rains came.

Best get to sleep.

Prayers for those in need

88 - We get to 355/85 (and Texas Roadhouse Dinner) at least once a month, so definitely looking forward to the new Leisterland.  Is the new home near the B&O Old Main Line?  Ms. Kelly loves touring new homes.

Chief - Please, no need to share the summertime swelter with the rest of us.

WOW new house is only 7 minutes from TX Roadhouse... kids love going there for peanuts and sweet rolls. New house is not close to the old main line. Sad

Have to go to old house again tonight to get a load of stuff going to the dump, and some stuff TheQ wants to bring to the already overloaded apartment... no idea where she plans to store this stuff... maybe under the bed??? Closing is tomorrow, can't wait. I will miss the old abode (lots of memories), but the prospect of what lies ahead is just very exciting.

Well, yesterday's heat was too much, so I had to do something...

Put a TM DVD called "Christmas Train Spectacular" in the player last night to try and beat the heat.  It worked!  Pretty much.  I feel so  much better!

Dittos on the "Texas Roadhouse!"  Lady Firestorm and I love the place, never been to a bad one.  As far as chain restaurants are concerned this one's an exception, most chains are good, but not great. "T-R" always exceeds expectations.

Kind of like a "Wendy's."  I've never been to a bad "Wendy's" either.

By the way, "The Train" with Burt Lancaster is on Turner Classic Movies tonight.  Best train movie ever made!

So, I'll need to catch up a bit here.....

Great Weekend at Carlisle, we left Friday morning after the rain and the wind left, made it to Carlisle at 1045, it was an easy day and we spent it with friends at the Mopars Survivors tent (cars that have never been restored or painted).   We caught up with a lot of the people that we spoke with on the various Facebook group pages.  We are a real big Mopar Family.  Lots of fellowship and sweat as it was VERY hot!!  Since Jenni committed late, I found her a room at the opposite end of Carlisle, we were in Mount Holly Springs at the Holly Inn with 3 other guys.  I made sure to escort her back to her motel and made sure she was safe.  She was and did say it was very quiet there.

Saturday, we started with breakfast and the line to get in the gate was huge!!!  AND it was HOT again!!  We got onto the fairgrounds about 1030 and settled in.  We walked the fairgrounds and had lunch with the "boys" at the Mopars Survivors tent and then we were out getting some pictures....actually Jenni was getting pictures, I was just making sure she was ok....lol.  We had dinner for the Mopar Survivors in another building about 6 and then we all went to our motel at the Holly Inn.  Mostly talked for a while had some snack and then SOMEONE said there was kareoke in the bar/dining room, so off we went.  No, I DID NOT sing, however, Jenni has a beautiful voice --- and another one of our party of 5 sang as well.  We were there until 0145.  I, of course, escorted Jenni back to her room made sure she was safe and was back at the Holly at 0235.

Sunday I parted ways from my Mopar brethren to go get Jenni.  We went for breakfast then got to the fairgrounds about 1100.  walked what was left of the grounds, met up with a few more friends while Jenni was off with some of the Mopar Girls....later, Jenni found a 2019 Challenger R/T Convertible for $61K and yes, we got pictures.  I taught her some Mopar History as there was A LOT of it there.  Our friend Alan was loading up is 1967 Hemi Coronet and we ran down to say goodbye, then headed off to home, a 3 hour trip.

Was a good weekend, but later that night I smelled gas and her Charger developed a pinhole in the fuel tank.  It looks like I was there in time and recovered the gas with minimal damage to the driveway.  Fortunate, as we did not break down on the trip.

It was a great trip and a grand time for us all.

So, Jenni fixed her leak in the fuel tank Tuesday night, we shall see if it holds up.  We'll be adding gas tonight and it should be ok after setting for 24 hours.....

She took me for DQ after the repairs were completed.

It hit 100 on the Magnum's Info screen yesterday.  Yes, we played softball .....so, here's the Softball Report - 2 for 4, 2 RBIs a single and a triple (I batted 6th), in a 20-11 loss.  Monday I went 2 for 3.  Playoffs start next week.

We got the game in then the storms rolled through.  Thunder and lightning and sheets of rain......Jenni and I sat it out in Wendy's, we had salad for dinner.

Cloudy and VERY humid supposed to be in the 80s, then back to the 90s-100s this weekend.  IF the weather holds, I'll run to the house and get Jenni's Charger gassed up and we'll see if it holds.  If it does, we'll be off to Mopar Night at Friendly's.  If not, we may just stay inside and watch the Yankees (double header tonight after they cancelled last night).

Brent - nice to see you back - good luck with all that moving!!

Fife - Nice to hear that Fifepup is doing well!!

Firelock - I may need to do what you just did....lol....Edison Grennburg's show is the 10th and 11th, IF I can work it, maybe meet you in Oaks, but we'll see.  Us Jersey boys need to stick together....lol!!

V8 - sorry about your friend.

Gotta get back to it, busy as of late.....

I am the monster in your head...And I thought you'd learn by now, It seems you haven't yet.

'Devil, if it looks like you'll be at the Oaks show let me know by PM, I'll give you my cell phone number and see if we can hook up somehow.  I'd love to meet someone from the Forum!  Lady Firestorm would love to meet you as well, as a firefighter's daughter she enjoys the company of firemen!

On top of that, you can confirm to everyone I really exist!

"Mopar Survivors?"  Now that really sounds cool!  I think antique vehicles in a state of preservation  are a lot more interesting than ones in a state of restoration.  Kind of like an antique military firearm that shows it's battle scars proudly.

Mornin' boys.  Gonna stay in my nice, cool, train room today.  I will finish my scatchbuilt tunnel portal of the C&O canal's Pawpaw tunnel.  Drove to the mountain top to visit my folks yesterday, and stopped off at a "thrift" shop in Keyser, where I picked up an old framed photo of a B&O freight passing Harper's Ferry, and an AF UFGE/Banana car.  Spent a total of $10.  The "wood"sided banana car fits my era, and the blue print looks like it just rolled out of New Haven.
