I am interested in obtaining insurance for my trains and other collectibles...any advise from those of you that may have insurance - such as what are some good companies, good ways to handle it and perhaps some storeies of something NOT to do...etc...

The only thing I can say is get insured by someone who knows about toy trains. There are lot's of insurances for collectibles, but toy trains don't have fixed values. So get one who really pays for the collector price if things get stolen or whatever.
In my insurance for the house I have a 5000 euro's limit involved for collection, so toytrains are also covered. The only thing is that no-one knows how serious the are about the value if something happens.
Daan. I'm Dutch, but only by country...
