A question for you all,
When placing Lionel Lockons on the tracks is it better to have them all on one outside rail common and hot to the center or switch between both outside rails for the commons???

It's unlikely that it matters. The numerous metal ties in parallel provide a very low-resistance connection between the rails.

Kev,
It doesn't matter since the outer rails are connected through the ties on tubular track.
Jim
But on gargaves it would benefit going back and forth

JimmyT , I never thought about that. Good point. I have been looking at sparking at the switches and that is why I asked.
Thanks all. Bob and RT.
