As I pointed out, you can have TMCC compatibility for free at the $69 price point, and the ERR AC Commander will handle dual Pulmore motors with no problem. I have an SD40 that I converted to TMCC using the AC Commander, runs like a champ. It runs conventional just like you'd expect, offers directional lighting outputs, and even controls the smoke unit if you have one. Oh, and if you run it TMCC, it also controls the electrocouplers.
Adding Railsounds to the AC Commander is a simply plug-n-play with the Railsounds commander.
I have had great success with the Dalee E- units. I just put a 10 Amp one in a reissued Standard Guage locomotive. Yes they are not cheap but they are reliable.
The Williams unit is made for DC motors and would probably burn out using it with Lionel's AC/DC motors. Lionel has made E units for those motors, try some service stations. The Dallee E-unit is a good one, not cheap though at $69.00 I think. He does not recommend the smaller E-Unit for 2 AC Lionel motors.

Dumb question, what's wrong with the Dallee unit? I'm not sure why you'd want to try to kludge another solution when that one works well.
If you think you might go TMCC, the ERR AC Commander is not much more than the Dallee unit and gives you TMCC compatibility as well.
Read THIS and see if you are willing to try the Williams unit.

Are there any other electronic E units out there for Pullmor motors besides Dalles?
Thanks,
Kevin
