The set dates from 1933 - 1934. It's a variation of the Paul Revere/Yellowstone sets-the variation being the locomotive. The one pictured is the lower priced version.

Although I might be a tad biased I'd say the best place to get information about prewar Flyer on the internet is the very long thread right here on this forum -

Northwoods Flyer started it a few years ago and it covers a very large part of the pre-war Flyer offerings.
As for the value, I couldn't say. You might try checking e-bay from time-to-time and bookmarking auctions with similar items and see how they do.
