Seen any good Train Movies Lately?

Hey Ya'll

I've never seen Emporer of The North. Where can I find it on DVD.

Also, the 1930's movie Silver Streak with the Pioneer Zephyer is one I'd like to see. Can this be found on DVD too?

I don't believe "Emperor of the North" has been released as a DVD yet. I have it on VHS--bought a good number of years ago at a train show.

I just checked = it's not out on dvd or vhs right now. Maybe it's out on bootleg somewhere, but I don't buy boots.

How about The Titfield Thunderbolt? Anybody seen it? It's an old Ealings comedy and sounds very good!

Watched Godzilla's Revenge with the kids today - about a kid who is alone most of the time and dreams of going to monster island and meeting Minilla and Godzilla etc. Anyway, the kid lives right next to a switch yard and his dad works (apparently 24 hours a day) switching cars with some kind of diesel engine. The kid talks to his dad who is in the cab a couple times and at one point the dad stops the engine and jumps down to help his kid. Lots of industrial stuff in the background and tons of real freight cars etc, but just in a few scenes. Most of the monster stuff looked like it was actualy footage from Son of Godzilla and Godzilla vs. The Sea Monster to me. No Tokyo stomping or model trains in the movie.

Have been watching the tribute marathon to Don Knotts on TV Land this weekend and one episode had a scene where Barney was chasing a hobo away from the campfire that was next to a double line.

Not sure if the lingo above is correct but maybe a double mainline?

Anyways, Barney found a briefcase full of cash next to the track that some bank robber had thrown out of the window of the passenger train he was riding when the robber felt the heat getting close.

No trains where shown in this scene which was kind of a bummer.

I don't see "The Station Agent" listed. Off beat, but we love it. Recently has been on TV several times, and is available on DVD. Check it out.[:D]
