cheapclassics

Good evening all,

Work was an unmitigated headache today.  Fortunately both pain one and pain two will be gone tomorrow and I got to listen to the Speedway historian, Donald Davidson, tonight at a local meeting.  That was special.  Weather getting warmer.  I hope everyone has a good day.

Keep on training,

Mike C. from Indiana

Are the pains going away permanently, or just on temporary hyatis?

Tonight I head back to Pittsburgh to hopefully put the Sears drama behind me. I am not being shy when I say I dearly hope I am done with all of this.

Really hoping I can make it to York in April. Not sure right now because it looks like TheQ may be travelling to either an audit or a speaking engagement. Speaking of the TheQ... I am always left in wonderment at how she does all that she does! We were talking about it the other night and when I asked she looked at me and said "Well you do make it easier with all you do." I was humbled to say the least. Just goes to show that when you invest in each other the relationship only gets stronger.

Good morning,

Brent, I found the pains at work if they do go away, they just get replaced. Laugh

35, heading to 62 if they are right.

Heading to the dentist apt for a cleaning at 10:15 and and then Sandra and I are going to pick up the Alaska freight cars and get a bunch of other stuff from Menards. Speaking of new tools Jim, maybe a Rockwell blade runner table saw too. I skimmed off some cream from the 401K yesterday because the market is high so I think I can afford it.  Wink

On another thought, I just re-newed my CTT subscription in November and every week they send me a dumb e-mail telling me to re-new again. They all seem to do it as if they hope you forget you just did. NRA is the worst of the bunch but all it does is make me want to just drop them all. Maybe I will!  SoapBox Angry

Good evening all,

Very quiet, very good day at work.  Got one task done and started on another.  Pain one and pain two being gone were both one day departures, but I may take Monday as a PTSD sick day as I have not much to do.   Very productive day in terms of online searching.  Weather was great for walk.  Good night for TV watching.  I hope everyone has a good day.

Mornin' boys.  Sunny and 33, going to 60 today.  Probably should place the Paradise outside to get some photosynwhateverits called, as is going to be a mild week.  If I were living back east, would probably be headed down to the boatyard and start waking up the yatchet.  Oh well.

It's just me and the youngest Princess this weekend.  Wifey went to her sister's place, and both of them headed to PA tomorrow for further blood tests.  Both turned out to be bone marrow matches for the BIL.  Middle Princess jetting off to Ireland for the week.  Her bestie is student teaching in Dublin.

88 - Maybe one of these Pittsburgh trips I can ride shotgun.  CowboyCowboy You know how fond I am of IRON CITY.

cheapclassics - Can we give Princess Sparklepony back to open wheel.  All she has accomplished in stock cars...well, a disolved marriage...  Still can't figure out how she made the CLASH.

Good morning from beautiful sunny 35°F Southern Ohio,

Forecast calls for high 60's by noon.  Yesterday it got up to 68°F.  The truck is waxed and looks nice.  A black truck is a love / hate relationship.  The gauge verified lift pump is working I installed on the truck, making 3 psia when operating.  Yesterday one of the eggs our chickens laid was huge.  They are now at 24 weeks and we're getting about 2 eggs a day from the 6 chickens.  At 26 weeks they should all be laying.

Kev – Rockwell makes great tools.  I'm not familiar with a bladerunner.  I've got a Shopsmith and have made LOTS of sawdust and a few projects.

Dennis & Don – Our daughter in LA was driving home from work and saw a tree fall and wipe out power lines.  So far their only damage is from a leaking garage, but others have not been so fortunate.  I hope you guys stay safe.

Don – is the channel holding?

May God bless

Jim

Good morning,
45 already, heading to 65. We hit 72 yesterday. That is just nuts for February!
Grandkids heading over for a two night stay later today so I had better ready the train room for use. Sounds like the weather will be nice for them to be here.
Jim the Bladerunner is like an upside-down jigsaw mounted in a table that can scroll, rip and miter cut. Nice and I think it will be a big help making the upper loop support.  And I won’t have to lean on the neighbors to use their stuff.
I don’t think it would be something I would want to use every day but for hobby work it looks good.

When I was at menards yesterday they had 30% off any in stock HO and O scale buildings. Wife had to slap my hand as I reached for the power station. Laugh

You guys out west, take the high ground!!!  Surprise  Angel

Morning all. Not a lot going on today. No plans as of yet. Time to go take my morning pills and find something to eat.

Kevin I faired a lot better from menards yesterday than you did. About a week ago I ordered one of there mystery boxes on line. They show up every so often. I recieved the complete Lionchief John deere train set, minus the track and wall wart. I also recieved a American Power & Light building, a flat car with a camo tractor trailer with a missile launch and missile on the trailer. ( not operational ( the missile launch ) and a Shell work van. I believe the train set and the building were display items in some store.

Your paint job on the shells look good, nice job.

Morning gang.  Spent yesterday down east in the woods and meeting with farmer.  Ran chain saw too long but was fun.  I really like being in the woods.  Farmer has dozer so he is going to do some shooting lane work for me.  He loves to do dozer work.  Free for me so that is great.

Prayers for Dennis and Doug.  Shake and Bake said last night he was not flooded but blown away.  Had a gutter blown a loose.  Banging house.

Good looking eggs.

Hope all OK.  Got 65 degrees out and going higher.  70's next week.

Later.

Good Morning,

The rain at our location wasn't so bad, got about 1.7".  But the wind was terrible.  I had cleaned all the gutters and downspouts, but the wind was pulling away from the house.  I thought it might have come off but it didn't.  Actually I think when it started the raining the weight of the water reduced the impact of the wind.  The river channel didn't get near the level I had expected.  It was only about 1/2 filled, but the current was verry quick.  Lots of trees down, (one guy electrocuted when a a tree took down some power lines that hit his car.)  Couple other people drove into sink holes, some various mudslides, but nothing near us.  Apparently on Interstate 15 at the Cajon Pass a lane of the freeway colapsed taking a fire truck with it.  All in all, lots of problems in the high concern areas.  But nothing significant in our area.

Did some work in the train room yesterday, trying to figure out why I am having so much problem with the Z2500 switches, so far not a lot of luck.  Then in the past couple of days I picked up a da!@ned cold.  Frustrating.

Kev, Good restraint at Menards, looking forward to my first experience.

RT, you certainly did well with the "mystery box".  More inventory for sale?

Jim, You got some good size eggs there!

Hope to hear that Roy, Dennis, and Doug DG haven't experienced any problems due to the weather.  We are suppose to get another storm coming in tomorrow night thru Tuesday.  A couple days clear, then another one next weekend.

Definitly a bad time to be driving!  Numerous freeways closed due to flooding.

Take care all, and enjoy our weather we have on loan to all of you.  We are experiencing the "wettest drought" I have ever seen!

Good morning all,

I have been MIA for several days now.  It has been a rough week.  My wife Helen was hospitalized a week ago for a broken hip.  The ball part of the ball joint on the right leg was broken.  They replaced the ball and some of the femor.  She was transferred back to her memory care facilty yesterday.  They will do physical therapy and more health care there in the coming days.  We are going to see her today.

V8, a friend of mine went to that train show you mentioned in Pomona.  He said it was very good and about twice as big as Cal Stewart.  However, he said there was more HO and G gauge than O.

I will try to catch up with the coffee pot asap.

Ray

Evening all,

78 and a nice kinda warm. 70's predicted for next 5 days or so.

Installed the new carb on the scooter. Started up and ran fine. Yea! Now the bummer, it started leaking fuel from a fitting on the bottom of the fuel bowl. It's a pressed in nipple for the fuel bowl drain hose. Argh! Sent message with photo of leak to the seller. They were quick to respond the last time so assume I will hear something Monday.

Son and I went to the car show (Autorama). Had a pleasant time but the show is just not what it used to be 20 years ago.

Ray - prayers for you and Helen.

Don - so glad the water did not come up more than half way and hope it stays there!

Regards, Roy

Good evening all,

Prayers for Ray and his wife.  Fiefdog, NASCAR can keep Princess Sparkle Pony.   She may have made more money in NASCAR but her career has gone downhill.   She was fairly competitive in open wheel, but totally out of her element elsewhere.

Onto more pleasant topics as we bought a vehicle today, a 2014 Buick Encore with 10 K miles.  Originally we were just going to look, but this was priced right and (here's the important point) the wife liked it.  We pick it up Monday.  It is a little more than I wanted to spend as we will have to finance some of it, but it was a lot cheaper than new.  Went to Mass tonight so I have all day tomorrow to get a run in.   I hope everyone has a good day.

Keep on training,

Mornin' boys.  Cloudy and 50 along the Patterson Creek cut-off.  Prayers for our friends in CA.  Thanks for the mild temps, Don.

Youngest Princess and I went and hiked Fort Mill Ridge, a Civil War site with redoubt, in Hampshire County.  Then we checked out our property in Fox Hollow.  A lot of white pine sapplings popping up through the Hancock shale, and I pulled a few up where a future driveway might go.  Meanwhile, Lexi walked the 10 acre tract.  It would be nice if those "roots" took to the soil...

Official Detroit temp yesterday was 69 degrees. Second highest Feb. temp on record. 60 for today. This is unreal but I'll take it. Ran some trains yesterday, Had trouble with an MTH/QSI engine but with pure luck I got it running.

WOW another day that shows to be 70s on The North Bluff above Marseilles. No coats and the house is open. In March????????????  Huh? No wait this is Feb Stick out tongue  Confused

Day two with the grand-kids and I am still alive. We hiked down into the ravine and walked the creek bed. That wore out the little guy so I get a break till his nap is over.

We pulled out of the boxes the new Manards Alaska cars and hooked them up behind the Alaska set of ALCOs I have been working on and and that train running can be seen in the"the paint shop was open today" post out there.  I like it and if I do another I learned a lot on this one.

Have a good one, got to run.

Evening all!

A warm one today at 75, cloudy, and very humid. Might have some storms tonight.

News here said we are having April weather.

Got a note from the Amazon seller yesterday not long after I sent the note about the new carb problem. Said they would respond on Monday.

Fife - sounds like a fun hike/day.

Good evening all,

Nice day so I ran outside.  Did 8 miles in 2:04:34.  Not great, but not too bad.  Will have to bring 2 granola bars to go the distance.  I am wondering if the 4 MPH average for the distance is possible.  Got federal taxes mailed today.  Did not take long to complete.  Should have done it 3 weekends ago.   I hope everyone has a good day.

Good Evening All,

Prayers and best wishes for Ray and Helen, they are going through the worst of it.  Wow a Broken Hip.

Just want to remind all you guys, remember that the weather you are experiencing is only on loan until we drain a few of these clouds.  As soon as we figure out how to change the direction of this Atmosperic River, things will be back to normal.

The Chief and I have been working on arrangements for York, I think we have it all figured out.  I did have to override him and make a change on the hotel, but that was somewhat expected.  He hade plans for us at this place;

Fortunately, I was able to get it changed to a Holiday Inn Express in York.

Been working on a DZ 2500 issue, with Z-Stuff.  Can't say enough about how GOOD their customer service is.

Talk to you all later, remember don't get to accostomed to the weather.

Good evening all,  I spent some time this Sunday afternoon visiting my wife who is recovering from hip surgery.  They had a piano player in a big room next to hers so we were able to enjoy it.  My oldest son came after me and spent some more time with her today.  As if I didn't have enough to worry about, I have picked up some kind of skin problem and the itch is driving me crazy.  I have been seeing a dermatologist and have been taking treatments but I need more.  This problem is keeping me from getting enough sleep too.  Will call the doctor tomorrow.  Later,

Ray

Mornin' boys.  Sunny & 43 along the Patterson Creek cut-off.  Plan is to slip across the Potomac and retrieve the Queen, meeting oldest Princess half way.  Visited my folks yesterday, and even "sighted in" my new fishing gear, however it was significantly cooler and windy on top of the Alleghanies, so it was back inside after a dozen casts.  Mom prepared a wonderful stuffed pork roast, which to me tasted way better than a turkey dinner.

Good evening all,

Nice day for a walk.  Was too busy today to pay attention much to pain one and pain two.  We picked up the Encore tonight and wife let me drive it home.  Nice!  Rides really well and is....quiet.  Going to watch Jane the Virgin tonight.  I hope everyone has a good day.
