Happy Monday!
Mostly cloudy and mid 80's here today.
Had a doctor's appointment with the specialist this afternoon. Still not sure what's up. The choice was more tests, or monitor. I've got an appointment set up in 3 months.
Idle toy train related thought - if one were to replace a power cord on a ZW with a three pronged cords with ground, where would the proper place to be to attach the ground wire? The steel base, maybe?
All for now.
Just lost a long post somehow, took me 20 minutes to type!!!! That never happens to me

Good Morning from Blueberryhill....
It is a cool and humid 70 degrees. Going up to 78 today with rain.
Today is a busy day. I have some chores to do and an errand to run. I need to finish a small project. Lunch and a nap for sure.
Dining car has rolled in with Cheerios for breakfast.
Y'all have a great Tuesday.

After getting my scripts yesterday I came home and cut the grass. But boy I goofed in the spring, we were out digging up crab grass as I did not put preventer on it this year and it seems to laugh at my attempts to kill it. Can't use roundup as it kills everything. Out of respect to Don B. I will not tell you what I enjoyed for breakfast.

BTW, was doing some chanel sorting last night and saw this show Lizard Lick Towing. Just another reality show.
But then.... I noticed it was from NC, did some checking and sure enough it is within 16 miles of the Chief in Wake County. Ended up on the Rolesville website, and saw the "Mayor's Show". I have to admit it they were pretty good. You may enjoy watching if you have the time. http://rolesvillenc.gov/
I watched the "Rolesville Mayer's Show" called DWI Check Point. Great show, well done. Even the guy playing the part of DWI was convincing (Chief Frank something or other).
I am not sure, but I thought I saw an Ohio license plate with the driver out of his car walking the white line. Looked a little like Buckeye. Was celebrating a Birthday.

Jack, I don't think you lost it. You have a long post just 4 posts back. It was Posted by RockIsland52 on 07-22-2013 9:55 PM.
Good morning all,
D.Baker and S.J, you have got us all craving BLT's now. Now I know what to do with the last two pieces of bacon in the frig. Best tasting commercial grade tomatoes I have found are the Tomatoes on the Vine variety. The others taste like cardboard.
Nice to see Dennis W. posting again. Hope the kids are not wearing you out.
No news so far this week about our ailing friend from church or my sister in Virginia. She is still in the hospital though. My cancer surviving sister in North Carolina has recently been made a deacon in her church. She also has started a support group for cancer patients at the hospital where she goes. In her spare time she takes three mile walks, drives her own car, shops and whatever. This from a person who was diagnosed with stage 4 *** cancer. Thank the Lord from whom all blessings flow.
Wife is still battling neck pain off and on but getting some better over all since she got the neck brace. Still using heat and Tylenol when needed.
My friend Larry, that Chief met on the visit to my layout won a lottery chance to ride an excursion train behind Union Pacific 844 from Denver to Cheyenne. I think it was this past weekend.

This is the most posts I have had in quite a while!
Afternoon. ROLESVILLE High School ribbon cutting was this AM. Just got back. What a great event. Big crowd. Hot and humid. Back to the HS for the Chamber Expo.
BLT's are great. Been eating them here since the first of July. Nothing like a home grown tomato. MMMMMM

Chief......isn't it frustrating in your line of "work" when it takes more time to secure common sense concensus on the high school site than it does to actually build the high school? No matter, the good guys (you and your constituents) won!!! Congratulations!!! A proud day for Rolesville.

Pat.....I get nauseous just thinking about grits. I suppose SJ could use grits like Roundup and annihilate all of his crabgrass. But then nothing else would grow in those spots for at least 100 years.

SP RAY.........wanted you to know that I have your sisters in my prayers as well as your friends from your church. I also hope that the neck brace does some magic for your better half and that the dirigible hanger your neighbor put in next to you isn't an eyesore for you. Between that neighbor behind you and the guy next door, you have had more than your share of grief and aggravation. JACK.
Jack, thank you for the prayers for my kin. We can use them. As for the neighbor problems, I have simmered down a little. Kind of got used to the Blimp hanger. Bigger problem lately is that he lets his garden hose run too long along the fence thereby flooding my driveway and patio, gutters and side of my garage. I spoke to him once about it. Tried to be diplomatic and just suggested that he was losing over half the water on my side. Today the water was pouring over again so I went over and not seeing him, turned the water off myself. I hope he got the message. I am trying to dig a small dry well next to my garage to catch some of his run off and will help me too when it rains. I didn't know when I was well off concerning the guy behind me with the new block wall. He put up a new tool shed next to the fence but it is well built and not an eye sore. In the big scheme of things, both neighbors are not bad people. It could be a lot worse and maybe I shouldn't complain. I just think the older I get the more I hate changes.
Took a look at the Chief's Rolesville website and looked at some of the Mayors segments. Very well done Chief. Good job on playing the DUI arrest. Rolesville seems like an up and coming community unlike what we here from Buckeye et al. in jest. I was impressed with the size of your new High School. Looks good!
Got to get my act together now and start planning what's for dinner in case I need to go to the store. Got my hose caddy fixed today with a new leader hose so that's one little chore done. Ran trains a little this morning. Still haven't worn the newness off of my Southern Railway F units.. Seems like that's all I want to run right now. I guess that's true with each new aquistion.
Looking forward to my friend Larry's report on the 844 train trip from Denver to Cheyenne.

Good evening all,
It is still muggy in SE Indiana. A quiet evening at home turned more work than I planned as I decided to transplant 4 small redbuds. Ground was much harder and dryer than I thought it would be. Got them moved, now to see if they survive. Work was ok. Dbaker48, the movie is as close to the real thing as you can get in an animated flick. For real Indycar action, check out the Fontana race in your neck of the woods. That will be in the fall so it should not be so hot. Wife's sister had a serious operation today, but is in recovery and doing ok. I hope everyone has a good day.
Keep on training,
Mike C. from Indiana
Busy day. Just got home from high school.

Konbanwa,
The past two days have been a bit busy for me and I haven’t had time to post. It has been raining off and on since last night which only causes the humidity to rise and make the hot temperatures more uncomfortable. Thankfully, the majority of my time is spent indoors. We had spaghetti carbonara for dinner tonight and have no other plans.
Dennis – I’m sorry your WSJ experience wasn’t better. I switched to the digital version early last year and greatly enjoy it.
SP Ray – Amen to that! I’m glad your sister is doing so well and using her experience to help others. I hope your friend’s situation improves.
Sayonara,
Joe

Today is an easy day. I have a few chores to do and then I will read my new copy of CTT mag. Looks pretty good.

Mornin' FellasHad a really nice time last night, went out to 'Happy Hour' with a group from work and met up with an ex-co-worker that we haven't seen in over a year. It was awesome catching up and seeing everyone outside of work.Jack - thank you for the 'well-wishes' TheQ thanks you too, since I was not home to enjoy said diapers. When I was carrying Christina to bed last night she woke up just long enough to look at me, smile, and say "Hi Daddy", then off to sleep again. This morning when she woke up I got a hug, kiss, "I missed you" and an "I love you Daddy". That little girl really knows how to get to me. Received shipping notices on a number of the items I ordered for the control panel, laptop upgrade, and the sort. All due to arrive by Friday, next Tuesday at the latest... we'll see.SPRay - for your familyHudsonJon & Fife - any plans yet? Need to get flight clearance and itinerary approval from the flight master. Are we planning to railfan?
Morning all. Not much and agenda today. Probably mow here, pick garden and spray Ranger for trimming. Got early Human Services Board meeting tomorrow and then go to lake house to mow. Hope to get some "Box" time today.
Have a good one.
PS: forgot to mention. Yesterday was National Hot Dog day. Ate three last night at 9 [since had not eaten since a noon snack at ribbon cutting]. Mustard, chili [hot dog type which means no beans] and onions. MMMMM good.
We have a sunny 61 but with a north wind this morning.
A very long downpour of rain yesterday probably destroyed the weed part of Weed & feed I put down the day before. I'm sure the feed part will like it though. My cousin and wife should be here soon and I'm sure we will find something to do today. Train news: Lionel has announced that their high end engines will be produced in numbers ordered only. Which means if you don't preorder you may not find something you wish you had ordered. OR end up paying a higher price for the ones available.
Aloha. Back from five days in the Upper Peninsula with my youngest. Had a good trip up and back and the weather there was very nice - 60s during the day, 40s at night - kept down the bugs. It gradually warmed enough too to dare to go swimming in the river. Climbed, rappelled, swan, canoed -- and now am pretty tired. Fortunate to be able to do this for the past 15 years with each kid. They seem to stay the same but I get older. Dang it. That's interesting, SJ

Chief......thank you for the news media links to the stories on your new high school in Rolesville!!!! WOW!!! Four stories and 350,000 square feet of cutting edge school. You must be very proud of this milestone under your administration. Once again........mega congas, and WOW!!!! JACK.
RAY SP......since your neighbor doesn't mind wasting water by flooding your property more than once, why not help him out? Top off your pool and hook up your sprinklers to his spigots and water the rest of your lawn and gardens.......from midnight to 4AM for a few weeks. I can assure you when he gets his next water bill he will sit up and take notice of what, where, and how much he is watering. :-) JACK.
