It's been a tough time for many of us. Many hobby shops are closed, some manufacturers (like Lionel) have pushed the "pause" button, and model-train clubs are not gathering. I think Editor Hal Miller said in his upcoming July issue editorial: You're stuck at home, now what? The answer, of course, is "hobbies."
I thought I'd share some enlightening things we've received from magazine readers of things they're doing now.
Reader Mark Affer mounted his CTT boxcar posters on foam board and displayed them in his train room. He shared this photo on CTT's Facebook community area. They look great (and so does his train room)!
Another reader, Joe Muscanere, shared a video of how Lionelville on how layout is handling the virus. He had a great sentiment in the description he sent us: MORAL: RUN YOUR TOY TRAINS AND YOU WILL FEEL MUCH BETTER!
I hope you've all read about Bob and how he is evaluating his collection and deciding what to keep in a previous blog post.
Have you seen this article from CNN? People are discovering (or re-discovering) all sorts of hobbies right now. Sounds like a win to me.
Here's another fun article from the BBC. A hobbyist found a way to keep busy--build a railroad in your backyard!
What have you done during the stay-at-home orders? I hope you're finding time to have fun.
