The Palace Diner

I recently went on a pleasure trip to Maine to visit a friend. She took me to the town of Biddeford to the Palace Diner. A real diner, tucked away between the office buildings and shops! According to their website, it was built in 1927 by the Pollard Company and is one of two remaining Pollard cars.

The place is tiny, one row of stools and two small doors. A limited menu and very limited hours. Sadly, we arrived too late to go inside. Some of the photos were taken through the windows, so please excuse the reflections.

This diner has been written about by many magazines and newspapers as a local favorite. It is neat to see a place that hasn't changed in decades. Click on any of the photos to enlarge and enjoy!

'Ladies invited' to the diner.

The diner is here to serve you, but only between 8 and 2. Sadly, we arrived at about 2:30 and everything was locked up.

The menu. Good old diner-style food!

A peek through the main door. Look at all of the chrome!

The side and kitchen entrance.

Side view inside.

Other side of the diner.

Now I'm hungry for eggs and hash browns!
