I see they have a 1958 for the whole territory west of Albany, and they've got some earlier for each piece.
It's been a long time for the portion west of Albany/Selkirk. There is one of those flyover videos on YouTube that goes down the old West Shore route and you can see the development on the old route in a great many places. My suspicion is that through service was essentially redundant long before the four-track Water Level Route was converted in most places to double-track with CTC in the early Fifties.
I am riding the rail trail in Fonda NY which parrells the NYC mainline and I was told that Conrail had parts running until the 1980s to serve the Beechnur baby food plant and there were even Amtrak trains on reroute thru here in Canajahorie NY
