I think the bk751 is more representative of the original Eastern Railroader's cap. Like their version of the traditional hickory striped railroader's cap, it's a one size fits all with an adjustable strap.
When it comes to the traditional engineer's caps, I don't care for the one size fits all type. I wear the polka dotted caps at work.

The wool Kromer, with the side flaps, is available at Stormykromer.com. I have one of these, too.

Can't help you with the cap. Sorry.
But just this afternoon I signed on to run the 475 myself! On 10/19. I'm psyched. Bucket List!!
Still in training.
Yes, thank you!
Kromer caps used to be the de-facto engineer's standard headware. I used many Kromer welding caps but you can find stiff-brimmed engineer's caps here, too.
Is it the A751 you are looking for?

And from Trains Magazine:

Many of the cold-weather train crews prefered the wool "Stormy Kromer" which, I believe is made by a different manufacturer these days.
Seems like the white engineer's cap came into popularity when the "clean" diesels appeared on the scene. Then in the crazy 1960s, it seems the polka-dotted fabric was all the rage.
Hope that helps your search. Ed
Check out the Round House Jeans website they may have the bib overalls you are looking for. They also did carry stripped caps too.( www.round-house.com )
Have seen historical pictures of enginmen with a white hat and blue rim. Does anyone know where I can get one today? Most on-line searches yield the blue and white stripes ones. In the fall my daughter and I will taking on the enginmen roles with N&W 475, we want to dress the part. Also, any suppliers for blue & white stripe coveralls as worn by engine crews?
