White Engineer Hat with Blue Rim

Have seen historical pictures of enginmen with a white hat and blue rim.  Does anyone know where I can get one today? Most on-line searches yield the blue and white stripes ones.  In the fall my daughter and I will taking on the enginmen roles with N&W 475, we want to dress the part. Also, any suppliers for blue & white stripe coveralls as worn by engine crews?

Kromer caps used to be the de-facto engineer's standard headware. I used many Kromer welding caps but you can find stiff-brimmed engineer's caps here, too.

Many of the cold-weather train crews prefered the wool "Stormy Kromer" which, I believe is made by a different manufacturer these days.

Seems like the white engineer's cap came into popularity when the "clean" diesels appeared on the scene. Then in the crazy 1960s, it seems the polka-dotted fabric was all the rage.

But just this afternoon I signed on to run the 475 myself! On 10/19. I'm psyched.  Bucket List!!

I think the bk751 is more representative of the original Eastern Railroader's cap.  Like their version of the traditional hickory striped railroader's cap, it's a one size fits all with an adjustable strap.

When it comes to the traditional engineer's caps, I don't care for the one size fits all type.  I wear the polka dotted caps at work.
