Naturally the Fall Foliage is everywhere...
Here is C&TS #488 (K‑36) poking around the trees...
Here we see the beginning of Toltec Gorge which is wonderful
If you want a hiking challenge, go to this Water Fall in Toltec Gorge as I'm sure it isn't easy to get there.
We are now approaching Rock Tunnel as we begin to pass under this height gauge.
Here is another shot of the Height Gauge near Rock Tunnel as the back of the train passes under it.
Just before you enter Rock Tunnel on the West Side is a monument to President Garfield.
The monument was built by the National Association of Passenger and Ticket Agents in honor of President James A. Garfield, who was assassinated in 1881. Members of the association held an impromptu memorial service at this spot on September 26, 1881.

We exit the tunnel and turn north
We pass another Phone Booth along the route
In this section of the route there are several Lava Pedestals

We continue our winding Narrow Gauge route
We cross the Colorado line again as we continue north
We begin our turn south once again as we Zig-Zag slowly easterly...
Here we pass another Lava Pedestal at a point know as Phantom Curve. Phantom Curve is named for the ghostly shapes and shadows seen in the locomotive headlight at night.
Once again we cross back into New Mexico. This is the fourth crossing of the CO/NM stateline.
Our Eastbound train continues down the Narrow Gauge D&RGW route like it was yesterday.
We approach Mud Tunnel...
Now here we are inside Mud Tunnel with my Video Camera set for Night Vission again...

We exit Mud Tunnel - Looking back at the southern portal
Just to the south is the beginning of Toltec Siding
The Toltec Siding stays to the north side of the mainline as we turn north once again.
Here we pass another Phone booth that dots the line as it once did.
