Train orders reports that Meteor #97 / 21 Feb had "boulders" placed in front of train as it approached. By consulting train location history appears that took place north of Perry MD. at somewhere along Old East Philidelphia road. Sprinter damaged and could not continue. Passengers taken to WASH and train set brought there allowing passengers to get back on train.
Could not find any media reports so this report sketchy. Hope the FBI finds culprit(s) with heavy jail time.
Deliberate Train Wrecking is still a Federal Crime as far as I know. I believe it is one of the Federal crimes where the death penalty is allowed--if the Feds actually seek it!
Found nothing about this on real media sites- Washington Post, Baltimore Sun or Philadelphia Inquirer. Mythology or something not quite as described?

Mid-Atlantic Coastal topography. While there are cuts and fills - they are mostly dirt, not hard rock.
Very few railroad incidents make enough disruption to get reported in main stream media. If it bleeds it leads. No deaths and nobody cares.
