Train Service in Illinois
Posted by History Seeker on Tuesday, August 1, 2023 10:00 AM

I'm hoping that someone can help me find the answer to this question. What passenger train serviced the community of Bensenville, Illinois around 1900. I am particularly interested in finding out the name of the company that ran passenger trains from Bensenville to Chicago in 1896. Thanks for any help you can offer.

Bensenville - the same Bensenville North of Chicago that was the home of the Milwaukee Road's (Chicago, Milwaukee, St. Paul & Pacific) primary Chicago yard?

Never too old to have a happy childhood!

Chicago (Halsted Street) to Byron, IL constructed by Chicago and Pacific Railroad Company circa 1874 and complete by 1876.  Leased by Chicago Milwaukee & St.Paul Railway April 1, 1880 and purchased by that railroad April 2, 1900.  For train service, please refer to Official Guides obtainable on HathiTrust, https://babel.hathitrust.org/cgi/pt?id=chi.096493136&seq=574 .

It was the Chicago, Milwaukee and St. Paul railroad until 1928 when it was reorganized and they added the Pacific........I think is what it says on wikipedia.
