Amtrak should introduce this into their curriculum at ChooChoo U.

The freight railroads desperately need to take that class too!

Do Amtrak timetable schedules convey operating authority on the tracks which the trains operate?

Careful, gotta watch that spelling.  Just because CN put it on boxcars doesn't make it right.

What if it's on the right side of the boxcar?

Trolling eh?

Since the Class 1's eliminated Timetable and Train Orders as a method of operation - Timetable schedules have not authorized train movements, therefore spending valuable training time on schedules is a waste of valuable training time on a bygone aspect of operations that is no longer being used to operate the railroad.

Schedule times are for the benefit of passengers and tangentally a do not leave station before time, because the passengers may be depending on the schedule time.

Train Dispatchers use schedule times as a measure of performance - not as authority for operation.

Spelling stuff wrong is cool, for some reason.

"Amtrak" is the perfect example.  That or the shop didn't have any "C" stencils left.

Thaat's because our friend from this thread wasn't in charge of the paint dep't!

If I had a dollar for everyone that only spelled  "zugmann" with one N, I'd probably have a few bucks.  Enough to buy a coffee or two, at least.

I came on this forum(s) to make you folks aware of the dangerous hiring and training practices which have resulted in loss of life. Being the 'new guy on the block' my observations were met with skepticism and snide comments. I  reacted. I treat folks with respect and expect to be treated that way in kind. That did not happen here amongst those of you with the 'forum mentality' (read clique). Scroll back in this thread and you will find evidence of that which I state. Amtrak is an accident waiting to happen and sadly it is just a matter of time until the next one.

But when appropriate responses are presented to you, you  respond with questions about their credentials and/or snarling responses. We know you were a engineer with no accidents and were trained the old fashioned way. We have agreed that Amtrak has safety culture issues that neither you nor we can change. We know that Amtrak is not receptive to change. Perhaps you can state in a point by point fashion what you would like members of the forum to do to achieve the goals you would like to accomplish.

I may have contributed a few loonies* or toonies* to that fund in the past.

Surprisingly, autocorrect doesn't try to fix "Equestria".  That show must be a bigger deal than I thought.

I've been to a Timmy Hortons.  So that makes me 1/4th Canadien.

Granted the Timmy Hortons was in PA, so, maybe 1/5th.

It's been fun.  But it isn't much fun anymore.   Signing off for now.

 Timmy Hortons

It's "Tims" or "Timmys".  I have actually never heard anyone say "Timmy Hortons" before.

You have failed your first Klass.  Please take Kanadian slang again next term eh.

243129:

Your attacks on the training of engineers with Amtrak by logical extension would include the training of many engineers on the freight lines.  True and also deficient?  That's a pretty broad brush of condemning most engineers, certainly those with less than 40 years' experience.  If not, how does the training on the freight lines differ?

I speak only of that which I know and that is Amtrak.

I have the impression that everyone who has been following this thread is well aware of the scope of your knowledge and your ability to present it to other people.

I do not see how iterating and reiterating your position will being about any change in the situation.

You have expressed annoyance twice before. Why do you continue to read this thread if it annoys you so much?

I am hoping that sometime soon you will realize the futility in contiuing to harp on the fact that Amtrak will not listen to you and then cease complaining to the people who have the privilege of using Kalmbach's forums.

Tell me you are not acting 'privileged'.

"I did not know that anybody had privileges; tell me, please, what privileges are available and how one gains such privileges."

I guess you gave them to yourself.
