The final EIS for the expansion is out. Still some alternatives but the main item is provision of longer platforms and longer servicing facilities for Amtrak trains.Looking for regional trains of about 1050 feet. That would be a regional train of 12 - 85 ft cars + ACS-64 hanging over end of platform.. That will be a big increase over the present practical 8 car limit. Other item is a very large increase of total Amtrak trains which is going to require an increase of the 39 train limit on the NEC PVD - New Haven.
