It seems to be improving compared to earlier this year, but it sure isn't something to brag about. As of now (late morning on the 21st CDT), the westbound of the 19th has departed Leavenworth WA 2 minutes late. The eastbound of the 19th departed Red Wing MN 1:19 late. It was substantially later earlier in the run but made up time due to the generous schedule padding at the Twin Cities.
The westbound of the 20th was 1:19 late out of Fargo. The eastbound of the 20th departed Seattle 1:15 late and is now 2:49 late out of East Glacier.
The detour for the westbound that avoids Grand Forks, Devils Lake and Rugby remains in effect.
I just noticed -- after they changed the schedule to more closely resemble the reality this year, the westbound is scheduled to arrive at Seattle at 11:55AM and depart at 1:40PM. Portland has a similar situation with their section. Are they managing to turn the train in that time, or do the consists sit unused for 26 hours?
I C RiderHas anyone rode the EB lately? How is it running both ways?
