PIcs of the Joseph R. Biden, Jr., Railroad Station in Wilmington, DE
Posted by Transr on Wednesday, March 23, 2011 8:47 PM

Here are a few pictures from the former Pennsylvania Station in Wilmington, DE which just last weekend, on Saturday March 19th, 2011, was rededicated as the Joseph R. Biden, Jr., Railroad Station.

The station, at least it's exterior, is back in it's full glory and the pictures illustrate that.  The interior was redone as well, thought photos from the dedication event (in my case) show little more then crowds and popcorn machines.  Personally, I focused on the exterior as the interior, despite getting a share of the $37.7 million dollars, looks a lot like Penn Station in NYC. Stark, modern and a bit bland.  The opposite can be said for the exterior.  Kudos to Wilmington (and Biden) for helping to preserve an intricate part of it's history, along with other Furness built buildings near by, including the former PRR office buildings and the B&O depot next door.

Here are a few pics for your enjoyment:

And last, the restored B&O Water Street Depot, here.
