Apparently SC was busy enough to justify a 3 mile long EL train. This Iowa not Chicago. The story is that a developer wanted to build houses in Morningside but had to cross a river and a bunch of railroad tracks to get there. So he built a EL train at a cost of 500,000 in 1890 money.It ran for 15 years or so until the next finacoal panic set in
