What's the particulars of CP buying more former SD9043MACs?

If I recall correctly they purchased 30 more for another round of SD70ACu rebuilds.

They must be satisfied with their first batch.

Interesting. Surprised they didn't pick up some of the ex-NS SD70ACUs sold to Progress...unless they've been scrapped already.

CP bought 40 additional SD9043MACs from the UP. This was before the NS decided to retire some of their SD70ACu locomotives. Two of the ex- UP locomotives only needed an annual inspection before they were put into MOW service, still painted in UP colors and numbers, but with CP initials on the long hood. The other 38 are stored.

Totally forgot about this: https://cs.trains.com/trn/f/111/p/286695/3317180.aspx

I blame the polar vortex.
