L & N F3a.....what colors

Hey all, just wondering if anyone knows if L&N had any plain blue F3 units?

Hi Kris welcome to the forums. Yes the L&N did have some F-3s in the CB-2 color scheme. The L&N began to repaint units solid black & blue in the late 50's. Almost all of the E-units recieved this paint scheme along with steam generator equipped F-3s (acquired in the 1957 merger with the NC&StL) and F-7Bs. Some FP7s also wore this color, and some NC&StL units could be found in thier original colors into the late 60s.

Thanks Dale!  I live in Toronto ONT. Canada.  L&N is very interesting to me, I am building my first layout with the L&N as my prototype.  I purchased an undecorated F3 unit, and a decal set with the order gold type set.  Finding a paint scheme is difficult.  I think I will go with the solid Blue.  thanks a lot!
