I had an Erector set when I was a kid, but Meccano has it beat. There used to be a hobby show here every November and Meccano guys would show up. The most impressive exhibit was a model of the solar system with all the planets circling the sun in what I was told was scaled-down time from thier actual journeys. All the planets had thier moons, too. The planets rotated in correct scale time, the guy said. There must have been 3,000 little gears in that thing-unreal!
