Hello!
I read an article the other day that announced the delay of moving L&N 2132 from Bainbridge, GA to Corbin, KY.
"According to the email [from Corbin to Bainbridge], Barnhart Crane, a company that specializes in heavy transport, told Kriebel that moving the train could not be moved by rail or barge." - The Post-Searchlight
How can a 0-8-0 not be moved by rail? Reading 2100 and C&O 1309 have both been transported on flat cars.
That's an incredible statement by Barnhart as they are the ones who did the Reading 2100 move as evidenced in the FireUp2100.org video.
If I can recall correctly, the L&N 2132 was originally cut in half for the move into Bainbridge. She was cut right down the center, between driver sets #2 and #3.
This could be an influencing factor in not moving by rail.
