A bit off the original topic, but in line with a side topic, one of ( if not THE) longest running childrens shows, was the "Ramblin Rod" show, on KPTV 12 in Portland, OR. Rod Anders took over the "Popeye's Pier 12" show on August 31, 1964, the show was renamed the Ramblin Rod show in 1970, and ran until March 29, 1997.
