For those who aren't aware, the West Virginia Railroad Museum is currently restoring two former West Virginia Northern 2-8-0s, #8 and #9, which were both rescued from the woods of Western Pennsylvania. I believe that #8 is in a bit worse shape than sister #9 and they are not sure if she is capable of being restored to operation (they may just have to settle for a cosmetic restoration unless funds can somehow be found to replace the boiler). In any event, both locomotives, once completely restored, will make for a few more fantastic additions at the museum.
