CN corridor railfans- when to go?

This is for anyone who railfans in CNs PQ city Windsor corridor along the St. Lawrence in Ontario.

What days of the week/times of day do you find are best for catching CN freights? Is there some sort of pattern?

I know some days are busier than others, but I can never remember which. Seems sometime about mid week, but I don't know. I hate going out for several hours and seeing two trains, then going home and hearing a dozen in the next two hours.

hmm i live in Sarnia, southwestern ontario, BIG CN yard here. traffic will be good nearing the end of the week, early morning, late afternoons are terible, and all through the night CN is buys, but this isn't exaclty the area you are going to soo...

For what its worth there is a nice place in Michigan for some CN at the Durand MI depot. It's about 20 mins west of Flint. They also do a railroad weekend in the town but I forget the dates.

In Kalamazoo County the CN trains are heaviest in the mornings and late afternoons.

The trains often get slowed heading through the Battle Creek Yard, but they are hard to view there now that so many structures have been constructed.

CN trains are so frequent through Michigan that any double track to single track bottleneck is worth finding on a map, because that slows the action, for a few minutes.

With CN freight trains, they always show up as soon as an interested viewer has left the tracks 3 minutes ago. It seems like a running joke. What are we supposed to do, drag race back to the tracks as fast as possible?

There is a pattern to CN trains, but it is over a long time frame.
