A Good End to the Day
Posted by Kevin C. Smith on Monday, June 11, 2007 3:16 AM

On my way back home tonight, I happened to glance down the intersection and saw lights flashing and gates going down. Now, it's been a long week but it was a warm day today, the night is just the right temperature for rolling down the window, there wasn't going to be any traffic on Ashland Avenue and and I haven't paced a train in some months. So, I spent the next 15 minutes listening to the drumming sound of a couple of EMD's finest as they edged their way out of the yard and worked up to about 40 MPH.

A lot of you guys get to do that far more than I do so it may not seem like a big deal. But, it's nice to connect for a few minutes again with seeing and listening to what our mutual hobby is all about. Ah, a good end to a long week!

Now, to start a new (long) week tomorrow...g'night all!
