Sorry.  I got carried away there.Blush [:I]  I just didn't know what the protocol was, for being the first to brag about receiving a magazine that comes to my house every month.Tongue [:P]

Anyway, it looks to be a good one-as always.

Well, you're lucky this time, Murph.  No magazine(s) here yet--at least not from Kalmbach.  Guess I'll have to settle for the real things (trains, that is!).  Of course, I settle for those every day.

Wow, I'd rather go to Alaska where you get a check for living there...lol...

Of course, on my one recent trip to SD I was impressed by the general attractiveness of the native female population, so perhaps I could stop by on my way to AK...

Ironically, I was born in Alaska, and moved to S.D. when I was 11.

Being an optimist, I assumed that Kalmbach just went alphabeticaly to see who got their magazines first each month.  It appears they are starting with the letter "T" this month.Big Smile [:D]

I'm on my way back home via Amtrak right now and hope I find my new TRAINS waiting for me, but it usually arrives on a Saturday, so more likely tomorrow.

I hope to get mine in the next few days. What I'm really waiting on is Locomotive 2007! Only 3 and half months!

No Trains today, but they usually do come in on the weekend, so here's to tommorow.

Lance, I'm hoping for those months to go by quickly also, maybe we'll get Locomotive 2007 at the same time.

Got mine today, too.  Not thrilled about another "theme" issue, but may be able to pick out some good things (I shouldn't say that--all of my pre-career railroading experiences dealt with locals).

Holy @#%&^!  What's with that track in the sun-kink article?  I know what a sun-kink looks like, but on the un-kinked track in the foreground there are a lot of tie plates not underneath the rails.

They're there, Carl- I think the track in the foreground is kinked as well, some of the ties/tie plates went with the kink and the other half stayed put.  Must've sheared the spikes right off, if they were there.

What's more, it's looks like every other tie moved to the right with the rail.  Is it possible that every other tie on this line had an extra, or at least different type of fastening to the rail?
