Missouri Valley train depot/museum project gains steam

MISSOURI VALLEY - Mark Warner said local residents and people nationwide are "all aboard" the Missouri Valley train project.

The project includes restoration of a 1948 Ottaway coal-fired steam engine, tender and four passenger cars purchased by the Missouri Valley Fire Department in 1950. There will also be a depot/museum to house the train that chugged and choo-choo'ed its way around the city's park before being retired in 2001.
