Why? Are you a pervert or something?
What exactly are you trying to say?

The only former railroads under the CN banner that would seriously qualify for Heritage Units are Central Vermont, Duluth, Winnipeg & Pacific, and Gulf, Mobile & Ohio.

Those Union Pacific heritage units are awesome! I have yet to see one in person though. I am glad that they at least did something. (better than no heritage units) CN should paint some classic Grand Trunk heritage engine. (even though there are still many GTW engines around) The GT is my favorite railroad, and that would be awesome to see CN make a GT heritage unit! It's too bad that CN painted the two green/gold E-units into the newer red/black. I am glad that they still have the four E's, two painted for Illinois Central!

Okay. I'll ask....why?

And just for the record, HTML tags don't work here. Forum code resembles it, but uses [].
As for the heritage unit idea, methinks you'd have to go back a ways to find more than has been mentioned.
On the other hand, CSX and NS might have some interesting subjects to choose from. There's still a lot of BNSF predecessor stuff still on the rails.

Remember Canadian National Railway was a Government of Canada run institution for years( a little bit of good old Canadian socialism) so what heritage would these locomotives represent? Oh, do you mean not CN but one of the American owned railroads CN bought, that makes sense. Interesting to find out if CN is a good corporate citizen eh?

Hey BNSF railfan, what happened to your post titled "."
CN should do heritage units, and they should be Grand Trunk Railroad- Canadian Northern Railway- National Transontinental Railway and Intercolonial Railways. Of course these engines were mostly steam engines in black and some electric engines, also in black. But it's the real CN heritage. hehehe
I like the idea of CPR doing a D&H- a MILW- a SOO and a TH&B as heritage units, but paint them as they were as close to possible even if it is on new big units.
The only UP heritage unit I liked was the CNW.

The only thing abut that, there are still alot of DMIR and WC units running around.
Everybody,
What are you suggesting?
SD70M-2 units in the Central Vermont 1970's, Duluth, Winnepeg & Pacific, and Gulf, Mobile & Ohio Schemes?
ES44DC units in the Illinois Central 1960's and British Columbia Railway 1970's schemes?
That is the only thing I can imagine for Canadian National Heritage Units.
Please, be even more descriptive.
Andrew

Someone would die if CN painted an SD70M-2 in DWP and IC schemes. I garuntee it.

??? CN has been around over 100 years........they just retired the oldest continuly operated electric units here a coupla years ago..................theres their classic f unit paint jobs..............yea i think the CN its self qualifies........
The CN/GTW/CV/DW&P 1950's Scheme on Locomotive models built by EMD and MotivePower unit is a way to make the first Heritage Units.
Why stop at the CN family scheme GM styling group created for GTWs F3s? There's the original DM&IR maroon scheme, BCRail, and Pacific Great Eastern's schemes. PGE started out with yellow(?) with red striping early, prior to adopting the green it used for twenty years.
The Newfoundland Railway (3'6") had a very basic black on its only Diesel, reputed to be ex-US Army. Does anyone have 411 on it? Do I have to dive into the stack of boxes and find the ancient X2200 Newfoundland roster, or the GE/Whitcomb (and others) narrow gauge unit listings. Perhaps when I'm off for the holidays, I'll take the plunge.
