My earliest memories are of the Pacific Electric in Long Beach next to the Colorado Lagoon. That was in the late 30's. My next meet with trains was in 1940 at the Bremerton Naval Shipyard where everything was Navy grey. In Algiers/New Orleans in the early 40's I used to watch a steamer push a few gondolas into storage across from our home. Back in Bremerton in high school in 47, I discovered model railroads in HO. Could only afford the flat cars and cardboard boxcars, and one 0-4-0 B&O steamer. Have ridden AmTrak all over the place.
And now? I have Florida Central peddlers moving back and forth right in front of me. Building a Garden scale after ACL and SAL.
Cheers
