The Burlington Route's blackbird scheme is a classic. I'd give anything to see the BNSF paint one of their most recently acquired locomotives in that scheme, similar to what the U.P. has been doing. I question whether or not such a merger would ever take place between the BNSF and NS, but still, it's a pretty nice idea.

The color scheme will be simple. Black, with FRA mandated reflective material and the new name "Norfolk Pacific"

But, Norfolk Pacific would revive a classic reporting mark: Northern Pacific's NP Henri Villard would smile at that development. M. Villard's name has also been spelled Henry, but I chose the French spelling.
If it turned out to be UP on top, the name would probably be Union Pacific, and the locomotives would be yellow.

Just to let ya know...that's the same railroad.
Besides...there is already a BNSF-NS Merger Scheme that a friend of mine made...

Actually, Lyon, that's not a bad idea for a "retro" paint scheme.
And instead of "Everywhere West" it could just say "Everywhere"!

BSRR??? Another railroad has this reporting makings Buffalo Southern railroad.
Harry_Runyon wrote:The new railroad should be called "Northern Southern".
If this hypothetical merger were to ever REALLY happen then perhaps the best (and most geographically descriptive) name would be "BURLINGTON NORTHER SOUTHERN EASTERN & WESTERN". (No, the coloring of the words in the name were not randomly chosen, think about it)

Sorry, that would be the Birmingham Southern.
You could call it Burlington Southern Transportation, reporting marks BUST.

The logo for that could be great. There are some pairs I'd nominate . . . .
