If this was a well run and well organized WEB sight, that cares about its visitors, after three stars, It would give you a free subsciption to TRAINS magazine for a year!! But thats only if its well run and organized.

Being in a railroading family the terms are nothing new to me. We will be at the dinner table and my dad will ask us to kick that food item over to him. If it is broken it is bad ordered, and he has even put tags on cars before while he was working on them. Thats hard to top!!!!!

I tried to make the forum page look like the poster it did not work.the outer rails on the set of tracks do not meet properly just the inner rail.thus the two trackmen smiling and saying thank god its friday.

I just stumbled across this, and have some:

Signs you're a train nut:

1.) You have a bumper sticker saying "my other car is an AC4400CW."
2.) Your other car is an AC4400CW.
3.) People must obtain authority to enter your driveway.
4.) Non-railfan's who do not understand why you do this are told "Hold at yard limits until further notice."
5.) You do the same thing to your mother-in-law.
6.) You have model railroads in thirteen scales.
7.) You went to Yellowstone National Park to see 2-8-8-4's.
8.) Whenever a car is hit at a grade crossing because it raced the train, you ask "was the locomotive's paint scratched?"
9.) Your record player has a turntable which is a scale 135' in diameter.
10.) You have no recordings of train songs--all your recordings are of trains themselves.

I live about 2 miles from the closest track. The first time I saw the Fright train (Wisconsin and Southern RR) I knew I had to see it again. So the next time (and every time to this day) I hear the Whistle (he only come once or twice a week), my heart begins pounding faster, I run and grab the Scanner, and then I ask my dad to drive me down to the tracks. About the thrid time we went down, I finally Knew I was hooked.[:D][:D][:D][(-D][bow][bow]

I realise this is much later people but...

...you know you're a train nut when: in the commuter train going home from work, you're the only one that notices that your train is late enough for the express to catch you up on another track and run neck and neck...

..Does anyone else have a train parallel their train sometimes going to or from work..there's always a few people (including me.. ) in both trains watching to see whose train will pull ahead first..ha ha![;)][8)]

You have a shirt with every patch from every train museum you have been to... which you only wear when you are visiting a new train museum.
You plan the family vacation around railroad museums, and tolerate the art museum someone else wants to see.
You know a "reefer" is something you load with food, rather than get loaded with food if you have a "reefer",
You count the cars on a train going by.
You get excited by a MOW train, so much so that you forget to MOW the lawn.

When a normal person goes on Vacation thay relax, when a railfan goes on vacation we drive miles and miles with little or no sleep, go to the ends of the earth and might come home with a broken arm and call it a great trip. Good Times, Good Times

My parents bought the house I grew up in when I was 4 years old.the neighborhood was next to the UP main.They had a choice between two houses,one had a view of the tracks,the other didn't.My parents chose the house with the view of the tracks.[:D]
