I let the camrea chose it's own shutter speed and apature.
Its in program mode, so the micro_chip decides how much light there is, and what to set everything at.
It chose a long "shutter" speed.
The photos tell a short story, the signal against the sunset is first, then the red board, then the still on the engine, he pulled up and stopped.
This is tower 13, west end Eureka yard, old SP/ Katy(MKT) crossing and trackage.
If your familar with the main tracks in Houston, he just came in off the Ballpark,
and is headed into Englewood yard.
Until a year or two before, there was a phone box/train register station here, before that, a real tower/interlocking plant.
The ghost train is accelerating away from the green signal, he just knocked it down, from a stand still.
Gonna go out tomorrow night, and set it up like my old Cannon F1, set the shutter fast enough to "freeze" motion, and see what it can do then.

Gee I haven't heard a thing from Kev so I guess he hasn't seen the previous post. lol [}:)]

I looked at your pics where you were just playing with the digital cam. Wow, I guess one of these days I will have to get one. It will be a while, with the constant threat of layoffs we arn't hardly buying anything. The digital cams are really amazing. Pretty clear shots. The # 11 shot looked like a "ghost" train. Was it making track speed or did you give it a long shutter time? I have been thinking of places close to take train pics and also considering some of the things you have said in the threads. Since we will be starting 32 hour work weeks now I will have some time to take pics.
