I'm really glad now that I tried kim chee before I knew how it was made. Kinda weird.

Have any of you ever heard of rotten shark? It's a tradition in Iceland and it's exactly what its name suggests: shark meat buried for months until it rots/ferments. Then they dig it up and eat it, and I don't think there's any cooking involved anywhere along the line.

Ok guys and girls. I have heard that this is a mid - atlantic only food. You can't get it anywhere else in the country except for Delaware, Maryland, certain parts of Virginia, and certain parts of Pennsylvania that I know of. Scrapple. If you don't know what it is than you don't want to know. It's made from a pig, everything thats from a pig goes into making scrapple. I know some of you are ready to heave but its taste great. It just helps to take a few years off of your life. In the old days they would take all the stuff from inside the pig - put it into the skull and boil it and some how make it that way - I don't know how it is made in the "modern era" . Oh and I could not find the link I promised you all for the detailed report of the lawnmower idiot but if i find it I will post it. I got Thursday and Friday off so so i will try to look for it and post it. See ya all and keep safe - Knox

Geeze,
You guys are making munedo sound sort good!
And its not that you dont want to know whats in it,
its that the person cooking dosnt know themselves.
Could be goat, could be pig.
A little dog to take the edge off,
it all the tripe, the absolute leftovers from the butchers, all the stuff they cant possibly make into anything else, all ground up together like hamburger meat, then boiled or simmered in a vegie soup.
And I mean everything left over, nothing is thrown out.
You have to skim a layer of grease off the top just to see the stuff.
Man, this sucks, I wasgoing to have some tacos, till I read this!

Nora, the shark thing sounds like gravloks, a Scandinavian dish of seasoned fi***hat is smoked, by burying it......of course we are talking about a group of people famous for getting liquored up, hopping in boats and pillaging the English Isles for the weekend.. I guess you could go ahead bury your kimchi at the same time, since you got the hole dug anyway.
