Locomotives in General
Posted by UP #119 on Saturday, July 15, 2006 8:03 PM

I am sure that this question has been asked many times, and is a simple one. Which is better; Steam, Electric, or Diesel? (I am a steam fan my self)

This is of course defined by personal taste in locomotives

Never was there such a tranportation as railroading.

Define better. If you're talking about the pure feeling of aesthetic nirvana, no man made contraption in the world can compete with a steam locomotive.

Unfortunately, railroad management seems to be mostly of the business oriented ilk, and seldom have time for such excursions into the magic world of steam. They of course see the other two referenced modes of locomotion as better. Their loss I suppose!
