Railway Recyclers
Posted by Anonymous on Wednesday, April 26, 2006 11:11 AM
I got this blurb from yesterdays Calgary Sun.

Canadian Pacific Railway employees in Alberta have been turning water bottles into dreams come true for sick kids.

The CP Rail folks began a kid-focussed fund raising initiative last November that also helps keep things a little greener.

The group has been recycling plastic water bottles in support of Alberta's Children Wish Foundation of Canada.

Alberta CP Rail staff has managed to collect more than 70,000 water bottles, generating more than $7,000 for the cause.

CP Rail employess in B.C. & Saskatchewan also take part in a water bottle recycling program.

I once read that in New York, at Grand Central Station, and in some outlying stations along the Hudson, they recycle almost 11 tons of newspapers and such a month. Its cost effective enough so that the recycling company does it for free- there's enough to recycle that they tur a profit~

Unfortunately, I didn't coppy the text for the article, and it's no longer online.
