Weekend of May 19, 20, 21. May 19 (evening) and May 20 will be at the Discovery Center (Oregon Trail Discovery Center) in The Dalles with two photo trips - one in the Hood River, OR and Bingen, WA areas and the other in the Wishram, WA area. See the website for details. May 21 will be roundhouse tours and a short train ride (which is going to try for cab rides, among other things) and seeing the SP 4449, SPS 700, and UP 197 at Brooklyn Roundhouse. All three engines are the property of the City of Portland.

Kathi Kube from TRAINS will be a presenter at 11AM on May 20.

Even I have managed to get a "respite" for Saturday afternoon and evening, in part to talk, again, with some former work mates (one being Doyle McCormack) that will be there.
