Those SD70ACes are UGLY. I love EMD and hate GE but the AC4400 looks a LOT better than a SD70ACe.

Egads, those are fresh, aren't they!?!?!?!? Well, everyone seems to have something they dislike, so I'll have to admit that I (still) don't like the swoosh.

Still, those are some great pix. Thanks for sharing!

People think they're ugly, but I think they look sweet. You GE types should like them, they look familiar.

allan, if those ACes didn't have that tall nose, I'd like them a lot more.

I do think that they would look better with the old logo on the front, that swoosh makes it look kinda bare especially next ot those GE units. I guess they just need somthing more on the front to visually break it up.

I once said on another railroad forum that if BNSF ever gets the SD90MAC with the current cab design that if they applied the Premium Heritage livery it would be one of the ugliest-looking locomotives around. From those SD70ACe pictures it appears my concerns are true. [tdn]

They almost have a robot look from a head-on position. No curves and slants - just straight lines and hard angles. I'm not impressed even if they are BNSF!

They do make for a good looking consist however.[8D]

I just think the old logo on the front would break up the front, Look at the UP units, they all have somthing across that nose that differentiates between curves and angles, and they dont look half as bad as the BNSF units do.

Someone obviously is wishing for a BNSF + NS merger, because there is enough room on the front of the SD70ACe to adhere the Thoroughbred graphics.

Don't forget the KCS SD70ACe!!!

I still say they need a canted red rectangle on the side of the cab...

Nice shots. What a shame to see the photo of one of these brand new horses heading a drag manifest train. Gee, don't they have any venerable SD-40-2's that they could assign to that work?

Did you chase these all the way from Chicago to Western IA?

See the KCS unit had the Yellow stripes on it, which visually brose it up from the body shape, that one is a good looking one.
