The blue warbonnet looks better than the pumpkin puke orange and stooo-pid "swoosh" logo their using now.

All that one needs is better lettering

For me it has to be and I know I am going to be crucified for it but the UP's Yellow and Grey. Any railroad they bought was assmilated they should be called the Borg RR instead.
Always at war with those that think OTR trucking is EASY.

I think he ment "Intentional" corporate paint jobs, not those "aided" [;)] by taggers or the guys in the paint shop "marking" [:0] company property.[8D]

I'll give a vote for the engine that has no paint, just primer and some bad stenciling work.

Did my previous post make any sense? Worst pant job=no paint job[%-)]? If you don't have paint, then... ok, nevermind.

The RailAmerica scheme is pretty awful.

I don't like any of BNSF's schemes. The orange/green combo just makes me want to hurl. Yet, for some reason, the same colors on GN look OK. Go figure.

the BN green and black before the merger is without a doubt the worst in my opinion.

Yeah UP yellow is gross. It can look neat and clean fresh but it's SOOOOOO boring. The only big railroad left I have any fondness for is the NS.

The NS ? What a paint scheme , kinda reminds one of the Penn central paint , no imagination whatsoever.

Yeah shiney black isn't the most creative, but it is attractive. And NS thorobred is a nice symbol.

Wow! and I thought the Kodachrome scheme was questionable...

I think we have a winner(!?) here.

Winner and still champion: Providence & Worcester! For a thankfully gone non-classic,I present the Kansas City Southern's almost white with a road number so tiny, you had to use binoculars to read them.(even less than 50' away!) In the no imagination required division, Florida East Coast, which "borrowed" UP's Armour Yellow.

I agree. And, no, I have no idea why the old GN scheme worked and the BNSF doesn't work for me.

BNSF with out a doubt. I miss the Red and Silver Warbonnet. As far as the best my shout goes out to the shortline Maryland and Delaware RR, but then again I might be a little biased since I live in the first state.
Cool site to visit http://www.trainweb.org/peninsularailfan/index.html - local site, very cool http://crcyc.railfan.net/ - Conrail site, also cool http://www.thedieselshop.us/MPR.html
