I must admit there are some great people on these forums. I must say that these folks in my subject heading are some of them.

Through these forums I have been able to meet everyone I have mentioned but Joe. Let me tell you that it was a pleasure to meet them all. I just wished I could have went railfanning with them when I was down there in Louisville couple weeks ago.

Locomutt and Cherokee Woman and I email almost daily. We have been known to send a RR picture or two at times. Some of our emails are railroad related, others are just us letting each other know how things are going. It's been fun.

Joe sends me pictures that he takes all the time and I return the favor to him when I can. I don't get out to railfan as much as I would like. Thanks, Joe.

I met Sarah, CShaveRR (and wife) at Locomutt's and CW's couple weeks ago. It was a fun time we all had discussing RR's and Sarah trying to figure out what's wrong with my company truck.

I kind of look at LM and CW as an extended family. They are super people and if you are ever in Louisville they would probably be more than glad to have you over. You wouldn't be disappointed.

So without these forums I would never have been able to learn what I have, meet the people who I have, or had the joy about talking about railroads and the operations of them.

I just wi***he select few would not ruin it for us all. This is a great place to come after a long day at work and just sit back and let your fingers do the talking. Railroad history is a hobby of mine, and this has been a great place to turn to. Even though I don't post often, I still go through the posts 2-3 times daily.

The only thing that will keep this forum clean and what it's meant to do is to ignore the posts that are aggravating to everyone and let Bergie or whoever else can take care of it. There are ways to disagree with someone. Just lately it has really gotten to be out of hand.

Sorry if I rambled,
Thanks,
Brian (KY)

Glad to hear you guys had a good time. Makes me kind of jellous. The forums have done a lot to improve the social element of railfanning. I used to be pretty much a lone wolf except for occasional trips with my dad and his brother, both railfans. But in the last couple years I have met several people on railfanning adventures only because of the forums. And especialy on this forum there are so many members with diverse education and background that bring there knowledge to the table in so many complimentary subjects. Isn't the internet great, especialy for our hobby.

Thanks Trains.com

Brian, I want to thank you for the kind words you have given all of us. It was very fun meeting you too, I enjoyed the talk we had about date nails, the 71 / 75 extension and, your diesel pickup. I haven't talked diesels since I too a vacation from my job. lol

I also want to say that I agree with Brain, on the subject matter involving the "rudeness" going on in the forums lately. I wish it would cease (spelling).

Chad, don't feel bad I too didn't really have too many railfan friends until I got on the forums here, in which I am very greatful we have such a friendly environment. I have meet sevral people over the forums, and have developed very good relationships with all of them. I also have spoken to many forum members over the phone.

So in conclusion, THANKS TRAINS.COM!

I agree and well said Brian. I admit, I do not post much on this forum as I usually spend most of my time in the Model Railroader Forum . But I surf the threads all the time here reading and learnign about the real thing. I have lost track of the times I have seen something out there and went "Hey, I know what that is, I just read about that". [:D]

I have the pleasure of knowing a good sized group out here in Arizona that are pretty hard core railfaners. The first time I came across them, I was able to hold my own with the lingo and speak all thanks to this board.

Was kind of a bummer to see some of the things that went on the last few days, so with that in mind, it was nice to see this thread. And you are right, do not feed the trolls[V]

From one Brian to another- I hope I run into you as well as the subject members someday while out railfanning. It would be a pleasure to meet all of you, as well as at least a dozen other members scattered west, north, and south of me.

Brian, thank you for your kind words. We enjoyed having all of you here. Sarah's
still here (would like to keep her permanently). She is such a joy to have around.

Still fondly remember about 1 1/2 years ago, Brian, when you and family came down
for a visit. That was fantastic. Hope you all can make a repeat visit very soon.

As Mutt said, if any of you are in the area, please drop by. We would love to have
you.

As Brian said, let's all try to keep the peace here on the forums. Trains.com does
a very good job with these forums, and we all get to "meet" such great people.
And we all learn so very much from the railroad employees who are on these
forums. Let's all remember to be nice to each other.

THANK YOU, KALMBACH AND TRAINS.COM FOR AN EXCELLENT FORUM!
