BNSFKLine is the target
Posted by bnsfkline on Sunday, March 12, 2006 11:42 PM
Right now, I am wishing that I never shot the video of that catastrophic engine failure.

Everyone on Trainorders.com and Loconotes are being led to belive that what I have is a fake, and nothing more. I am here to say that this is NOT a fake, and is the real thing

This roumer is being started on loconotes by William Mundy, and is starting to become a headach for me. I have sent Mr. Mundy a copy of the audio file of the newscasts, hoping that it will change his mind.

Yeah,
But, you are "selling" the product before you actually have any in hand to distribute, so.....

Had you been able to send the video, as opposed to just talking about it, things might have come out different.

Not doubting that what you claim happened really did occur, but before you go on line and hype it up, you should have had it ready to send out.

You spoke too soon.

Leave BNSFKline alone! I was there and saw the whole thing unfold also! This did happen and I dont even know him. Give the guy a break. I will atest the UP engine blew a rod, caught fire and sat in Kirkwood MO for more than 2 hours. After this a patched Souther Pacific Unit sent from downtown came to the rescue. The train sat for about another 20 minutes and then there was more smoke than a steam engine. The 120+ car coal train started on a 2% grade, almost right in front of Kirkwood station.

While it may not be right that he is selling the product, it is a real thing. I also thought he should put it on the internet myself, but who am I to make that decision. All of these people who think it is fake are wrong, and I want everyone to know that. There was atleast 15 other people standing around and watching the event too.

So about ranting just trying to clear somethings up.

It does puzzle me as to why the newschannel didn't list the story on the website. However, I am not willing to accept a "true" or a "false" just yet.

I hear it is a prototype that CSX is considering as a cost cutting measure, issuing to their signal corps. The idea is to place a box of spare bulbs on the "utility car" side, then a repairman rides the rails during slack hours and inspects signals/makes replacements as needed.

i'm thinkin a little go-cart engine (tier 3 compliant, of course) could be mounted on there. the sidecart would be removable.

Lets try to look at the bright side.

After one man crews are the norm, anytime a train dies on hours, they can just have the relief "crew" peddle out to the train, and the relieved crew can ride the bike back.

Think of all the taxi service costs eliminated. [:(]

You might be onto something here. If you could figure out a way to make that thing fold up into a briefcase or a suitcase it could become standard issue along with the steeltoe boots, hardhat and so on.
