- Katrina and other hurricane related RR news stories. Once again, the RRs showed amazing response and went far beyond the call of duty to restore services.
- David Gunn firing. Amtrak has never been in better shape.
- Amtrak's political issues. It is hard to be a service that the public demands but that does not have administration support.
- Graniteville train wreck. This was also voted the top story by the South Carolina Associated Press.
- Metrolink commuter train wreck in Glendale CA. This story brought many RR operational and safety issues to the public eye.
- The return of UP 844. UP's public relations program generated over 800 press articles from this.
- Tibet's new high alititude RR - pushing passenger technology.
- Chinas buy of EMD and GE locomotives. They are buying US while selling diesels to other countries.
- Unfortunate Metra accidents in the Chicago area.
- Record business and revenue growth for Class 1 RRs. They will be around for our comments for a long time.
Thanks for your participation.
